The Importance of Exercise for Seniors

You hear a lot these days about the benefits of exercise for everyone, children, adults and especially for the seniors.  After the age of 50 seniors begin to lose muscle strength and can lose as much as 2% a year, as reported by My Healthy Seniors.  Exercise not only helps keep our muscles strong but aids in keeping our weight at a healthy level, helps reduce the risk of heart disease, and also helps energizes the brain to help combat memory loss and depression that often accompanies getting older.  With a regular exercise program you will have more energy, sleep better, look and feel younger.

As with any exercise program, consult your doctor before starting.
