The Jacksonville zoo opened in May of 1914 and is a great place to visit when you are in the area. There are so many things to see and do at the zoo such as garden tours, keeper talks, train and carousel rides and behind the scenes tours.
The Jacksonville CONNECTION tells about some of the history of the zoo and how much it has grown and accomplished over the years.
The elementary schools in the area visit the zoo on field trips every year where they learn about animal safety and awareness and even get to handle some of the animals.
People of all ages will enjoy visiting the zoo in Jacksonville, Florida.
