Machine quailing is based on a process of planning and what you would want to see in a pattern. Your imagination is the key to just one aspect of what is needed to start a quilt. Quilting is fun!
Machine quilting does take some effort to complete, so take your time with the selection of fabric as well and choose wisely. There is more to the process of creating a quilt with a machine. The machine needs to be operated in a safe manner, read all directions, and set up a large area to work in; a "quilt" would be associated with the size of a bed. It is wise to plan for this aspect of a machine quilting project.
The equipment needed is based on a standard sewing machine, but remember to have the machine in good working order. With strategy and maintenance, this assists with the quality of what is created while the fabric and all that goes into making a quilt is passing through the machine, to be sewed. It is also a good idea to make sure that the lint is cleared. There is more to quilting than just setting a pattern and making sure that all needles are out of the way while the actual sewing is in progress.
Some time taken to practice as well as researching on the subject of machine quitting is important; this could make the difference between a nice pattern and a loss of money and time.
