My name is Marie and I have been doing various types of crafts for as long as I can remember.
My first crafting endeavor was crocheting. My mother taught me how but I was unable to read yet, so she would tell me what the pattern said to do and I would do it. My second crafting adventure was learning how to knit. When I was seven years old, I received some yarn, a pattern book, and a pair of knitting needles for Christmas. Once again my teacher was my mother. Since then I have learned or tried many different kinds of crafts such as building and furnishing dollhouses, wood burning, candle making, macrame, cross stitching and many others. My latest project was learning Norwegian embroidery called Hardanger (pronounced har-danger). I think I would have to say that Hardanger is my favorite craft. It is so versatile and once you know the basics it is very easy to design your very own unique patterns.
